Breaking the Cycle

I tell you, this has been one of the longest dry periods I have had since I started doing this blog!  I have logged countless miles hiking around in search for things, but all I come up with are........SQUIRRELS!!  If I see another squirrel, I'm going to puke.  Not really, though.  I love squirrels, but that seems to be all that has been out and about.  I cannot bare to take another photo of a squirrel, unless it is a good closeup of Cyclops, out backyard, one-eyed black squirrel:)

I'm on vacation this week, so I went to investigate some otter spottings along the canal in a specific area.  Well, no otters this time, but I did manage to kick up wood duck that really did not want to leave the area.  He kept going back and forth and could have easily fled to the other side of the canal, but he didn't.  That leads me to believe his mate was somewhere near that area.  I know they start pairing up in October, so this would make perfect sense.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics.  It was a very cloudy day, so I had to up the ISO on my camera which makes for some noise in the pics, but I'm happy with them.  Hopefully, I'll have more photos to share this week.....hopefully of some otters!
